One Day There'll Be Sun
For some cockamamie reason I am really excited (momentarily) about the NBA, now that those horrible 82 games are over. Now the players might try a little harder. It might be the great sadness, the great missing of college basketball-- I'll take a less passionate version. Hell, I watch streetball at West 4th sometimes just to get the summertime fix. A preview might be coming. In which I ask, how does one deal with one's team's jerk player? I am thinking of Jason Kidd and what physical battles his wife and he may or may not have had.
John Maine had a no-hitter through six in the Mets' blowout win ... trhe Chicago White Sox' Mark Buerle had a complete game no-hitter through nine, facing only 27 batters in the 6-0 victory.
Now, this is how a Philly baseball manager gets fired. Not yet, but it's coming Charlie Manuel, watch for the ax.
